The word’s getting around that there is lots of great entertainment at WDPAC!!

Here are a few indications of how word has spread since this time in 2014.

The email list has grown 20%

Those liking WDPAC on Facebook has grown 36%

Visits to the website, WDPAC.com have grown 57%

WDPAC had its first SOLD OUT event, the Motown tribute concert, in recent history!

The WDPAC jrs Repertory Company is so much more than putting on plays featuring children and unique among other such programs in Central Florida.  Most significantly, there is NO cost to families for their children to participate in the productions.  Auditions are open to any child, regardless of skill level, grades 1-12.

Barb Kellar, educator at Seminole County’s Midway Elementary Arts Magnet School, is a frequent director of the WDPAC jrs Productions.  She can attest to the uniqueness of this program.  As she says, “this isn’t just a kid’s show, but a true junior version of theatrical productions performed by adult companies”.   WDPAC jrs sometimes produces talent that go on to the adult Repertory Company at WDPAC and other venues.  Barb, refers to this as the Farm Team approach.

What’s so special about the Sanford Jazz Ensemble (SJE)?  The list could be quite long, so read on and you’ll be surprised!

Music – The SJE statement says they are “Dedicated to the preservation of the Big Band Jazz Tradition”.  They superbly perform the traditional Big Band songs in their purest form.   However, they go further by putting the Big Band sound to everything from 70’s Funk, Soul to original compositions by Ensemble members, and creating new arrangements to the old standards.

There are volunteers in virtually every corner of WDPAC.  Some you meet greeting you at performances and on stage. Some you may not meet because they are behind the scenes doing the hundreds of tasks it takes to operate the building, office, marketing, sales, maintenance and more.  There is only one paid staffer at WDPAC so without volunteers the doors would close.
